Wellness & Vaccinations

Do you want to know the secret to helping your pet enjoy a long, happy and healthy life?

As loving pet parents, we want our animal companions by our side for as many years as possible. At Paw Prints Animal Hospital, we believe the best way to ensure this happens is by making a commitment to their ongoing wellness. By bringing your pet in for regular checkups, you’ll help protect him or her from many common ailments that can affect companion animals. You’ll also give us the opportunity to identify and address potential health problems early, before they have chance to develop and worsen. These simple things can add years to your furry family member’s life.

An Ounce of Prevention

Our wellness services are comprehensive and extremely thorough, because we want to do everything in our power to keep your best friend healthy. At each visit, the doctor will examine your pet from nose to tail, looking for anything out of the ordinary. We’ll also develop and implement a customized preventative care plan tailored to your pet’s unique needs, lifestyle and risk factors. This will include vaccines, parasite control, nutrition and weight management and anything else deemed relevant to your companion.

Ongoing Health Management

Wellness visits also provide us with regular snapshots of your loved one’s health status at each appointment. We can then compare this information against previous exams to identify any changes. This allows us to detect the signs of illness early and develop an effective treatment plan in a timely manner. With many ailments, an early diagnosis can vastly improve the outcome for your pet. The more we stay on top of these things, the better chance we’ll have of extending and improving the quality of your companion’s life.

Getting to Know You

Finally, annual visits give all of us at Paw Prints Animal Hospital the chance to truly get to know you and your animal companion. Developing a relationship with you and forging a bond with your pet is an integral part of the care we provide. This allows us to partner with you in managing your loved one’s health, and also makes visiting the vet a more positive experience. The more we understand your best friend’s needs, the more precisely and effectively we can develop a health care plan.

You want to see that special little guy or gal enjoy many wonderful years. At Paw Prints Animal Hospital, we’d love to help you achieve that goal. Call us today to get started!

After spending a lot of money to take my dog into the ICU over a weekend for what was originally diagnosed as pneumonia, I was not able to afford the extra $2k that it would've cost for her to see a specialist to run the diagnostics after she was not recovering with treatment. With a broken heart and with very little hope I took her to Paw Prints Animal Hospital in Easley to see if they could do anything. She was seen by Dr. Cousins and he was very candid in the risk we would be taking by giving her prednisone since we had no idea what was causing her lungs to fill with fluid (because pneumonia did not seem to be the correct diagnosis that the hospital gave). I stayed home with her to monitor how she did just in case she made a turn for the worse. After coming back that same afternoon to administer her antibiotic shot I had let Dr. Cousins know that I had to return to work the next day, but I was afraid to leave her home alone. Without hesitation, he just told me to bring her in the following morning and he would be sure she stayed in a quiet spot until I could come get her in the evening. I can not say enough good things about Paw Prints and their staff, especially Dr Cousins. He took care of Kira as if she were his own pet. I am forever thankful for him and for saving Kira's life. Although, she has many more weeks of treatment, I am a lot more confident that she will continue to recover.

All 3 Vet's are GREAT!! They are very compassionate and treat my dogs like their own! They are even good with my Rat Terrier who is aggressive, they gently muzzle her, make the exam quick, and then the muzzle is right back off, the stress level is almost 0 (which is big for us). Highly Recommend!

My dog is very anxious around new people and vets , but I was so happy to see how patient and loving every single staff member was with her even when she snapped at them. They were so calm and tried their best to do everything they could to make her comfortable and soothe her nerves and reduce the risk of traumatizing her. I was also impressed with the education I received, which was very clear , as well as leaving room for questions and clarification . This staff really cares about you and your animal and it shows.
