Diagnostics

Has your pet been acting unusual?  Are you concerned that an illness or injury may be to blame?

When people get sick or hurt, they go to the doctor, explain their symptoms and receive the appropriate care. With pets, it’s not always this straightforward. Because our animal family members can’t speak, they can’t tell us when something is bothering them. What’s more, many pets are able to hide the signs of illness for long periods of time. All the while, the condition is able to develop and worsen.

In cases such as these, we rely on veterinary diagnostics to get the answers we need. These tools and technologies allow us to conduct an in-depth evaluation of your pet’s health, both externally and internally. By gathering a complete picture of your pet’s condition, we’re better able to diagnose and treat health problems in a timely manner. Faster diagnosis of illness and injury can vastly improve the chances of a positive outcome for your companion. Paw Prints Animal Hospital offers both routine testing as well as advanced diagnostic services.

In-House Laboratory

Our hospital features an on-site diagnostic laboratory, which makes it fast and efficient to run a wide variety of tests. In many cases, we can have results within just minutes. This means we can have a treatment plan in place before you and your loved one even leave the exam room. The ability to run blood work, urinalysis and other tests in-house is especially beneficial for critical cases when time is of the essence. Laboratory work is also available for routine health screenings as part of your pet’s wellness care.

Advanced Imaging

In some instances, a physical exam and lab work simply aren’t enough to effectively assess your pet’s condition. That’s why Paw Prints Animal Hospital also offers Digital Radiography. This tool allows us to look inside your pet’s body and learn precisely what’s ailing him or her. We can use Digital Radiography to evaluate the bones and internal organs, identifying injuries, diagnosing illness and determining its severity. Images can be analyzed by our doctors in real-time or shared electronically with specialists if necessary.

If your furry friend has been acting a bit out of sorts lately, don’t take chances. Give us a call right away. We’ll get to the bottom of the problem and get your little buddy back on the path to good health again.

I do recommend the vets there. Some of the staff I was not really happy with when they would not muzzle my dog to clip his nails. Then he had to have a couple of lumps removed and the C collar is so big on him. After I paid almost 600.00 which 20.00 of that was for the C collar they told me I could go to pets mart and get one that would fit him for 19.99....Really you couldn't have someone to run up to pets mart and get one. That upset me. So now I have to hold his food bowl up to him to get him to eat because the C collar is so big he can't get to his bowl.

My dog of 9 years was having very serious problems. I called my usual vet and they could not "fit him in". I called Paw prints around 745 last Wednesday morning, told them what was going on and the receptionist asked that I be there at 830. I took my baby in and it turned out that he was having major complications and the best option for him was not him coming home with me. Dr. Cousins and the nurse that seen my baby were absolutely wonderful. They hugged me, held my hand, even almost cried with me. Even the staff at the desk were so very sweet and gave me their condolences. Although my first visit here wasn't under best circumstances, I am so very thankful that this is where I took my baby. They have since then sent a card thanking me for allowing them to care for my baby and another card with the sweetest message and told me I made the right decision. I will be eternally grateful for their love compassion and care they showed for my baby. Highly thinking about switching and making this my new vets office!

My husband and I took our first puppy (Pumpkin) to Dr. Cousins at Paw Prints Animal Hospital back in 2006 for her first shots & checkup; and now Pumpkin is nearly 12 and still doing great! We love the Paw Prints Animal Hospital veterinarians, over the years we have seen and talked with them all! And even though we have now moved away from Easley to another city, we will still take our pets to Paw Prints 🐾 they are just that good!

Had our youngest Yorkie in for pain that he was having in one of his knees yesterday. Dr. Elledge did a whiz bang job of examining him from head to toe and everything in between. It was determined that he has luxating knees...the left kneecap is worse than the right one. An anti-inflammatory is helping! LOVE that Dr. Elledge did not make me feel like we were being rushed in any way (and they were really really busy yesterday). "Erin", who assisted her, is just the best at what she does, and is right where she needs to be. THANKS for getting us in on such short notice "ladies at the front desk"...YOU ROCK! As always, our experience at Paw Prints Animal Hospital was positive in every way...
