Brittney

Brittney

Kennel Technician

Growing up in the small town of West Pelzer, Brittney developed an affinity with animals early on in life. Ever since she was a little girl, she’s known that a career working with pets was her true calling! Now, she’s able to improve the lives of the area’s pets daily as a Kennel Technician with the Paw Prints Animal Hospital team.

Brittney joined the hospital family in April of 2015. Her favorite part of the workday is seeing a loving pet owner come to pick up their animal companion—the look on a client’s face when they see that their pet has been well-cared for is priceless!

Brittney and her family share their lives with four Chihuahuas—Zoey, Bristol, Bella, and Peanut—as well as a Shar Pei named Reggie. They also keep a pair of goats and several chickens; Brittney loves spending her free time tending to their needs around her family’s home.

Candace

Candace

Veterinary Technician

Candace grew up in Greenwood, South Carolina, where a love of pet care was instilled in her early on in life. She started volunteering with her hometown veterinary practice at the ripe age of 11! For Candace, animal care has always been—and continues to be—a lifelong journey. She’s thrilled to serve the pets and animal owners of the area as a member of the Paw Prints Animal Hospital team!

After studying veterinary medicine in college, Candace became a wildlife biologist and taught students for most of her career. She retired early, then began pursuing her childhood passion: small-animal care. Candace started working at the local county animal shelter, where she would remain for several years before joining the Paw Prints Animal Hospital family in 2014. Her favorite part of the job is meeting other pet lovers just like herself on a daily basis!

At home, Candace and her two college-aged children live with multiple cats of their own. The family also shares their lives with a rotating cast of rescue cats; Candace started her own cat rescue and helps foster medically challenged or at-risk felines with the help of Paw Prints Animal Hospital.

Elizabeth

Elizabeth

Veterinary Technician

Elizabeth’s veterinary journey was largely inspired by her childhood black Lab, Jake, who quite literally saved her life. One day, young Elizabeth mistakenly pedaled her bicycle into the road; Jake pulled her back onto the sidewalk as an oncoming car screeched to a halt directly on top of her bike! Elizabeth never forgot the courage and compassion that her animal companion demonstrated that day—she’s always wanted to give something back as a veterinary professional!

Originally from Pennsylvania, Elizabeth’s career started when she began volunteering at an animal clinic in Clemson, South Carolina at the age of 14. As soon as she was 15, she was hired on as an employee! Over time, Elizabeth worked her way up into a Technician position.

After hearing about an opening here at Paw Prints Animal Hospital from the clinic’s very own Valerie, Elizabeth joined the hospital family in the summer of 2014. As a Tech, she has particular interests in radiology and surgery work. Most of all, she enjoys seeing firsthand the interactions between animal owners and their beloved pets.

Elizabeth and her husband share their lives with three rescued dogs: Skynard, a black Lab; Jasper the German shepherd; and a boxer named Mushu. When she isn’t hiking with Jasper or tending to pets’ needs here at the hospital, Elizabeth enjoys drawing and making wood-burnings. She especially likes to share her work with family and friends!

Josh

Josh

Kennel Technician

Although there were plenty of pets around while Josh was growing up in his family’s Travelers Rest, South Carolina home, he never suspected that he would work in the veterinary field one day. He started here at Paw Prints Animal Hospital part-time, but ended up loving the work so much that he stuck around and made it his full-time career! Josh now gets to care for the area’s pets and animal owners daily as one of the clinic’s Kennel Technicians.

Josh’s favorite part of his job is working to create a bond with the animals who visit the clinic, especially those that are nervous or frightened. If he can make a pet’s appointment as stress-free as possible, he knows he’s done his job! Josh also enjoys the variety that his work brings; no two days are ever quite the same.

Away from work, Josh enjoys spending time in the great outdoors, whether he’s running, playing basketball, or swimming at the lake. He has one pet of his own: Max, a fun-loving three-legged cat who constantly entertains Josh’s children.

Kari

Kari

Veterinary Technician

Kari has adored animals since she was a little girl—her family always kept at least one dog or cat around the house, and she constantly attempted to bring home any stray creature she could find. After Kari grew older, had children, and served as a stay-at-home mother for a number of years, she decided it was time to return to the workforce. A career in animal care was the ideal choice!

Kari is an Easley native and joined the Paw Prints Animal Hospital family in 2008. She works as a Veterinary Technician and has special passions for surgical work and puppy and kitten visits.

Kari’s passion for animal care doesn’t stop at the office—she lives on a small hobby farm with her husband of 17 years, two children, and a menagerie of pets. The family has dogs, cats, horses, chickens, ducks, rabbits, goats, pigs, a pet rat, a bearded dragon, a lovebird, fish, and even several Madagascar hissing cockroaches! Kari has also recently started beekeeping and currently manages three bee hives.

When she has a moment between her duties here at the clinic, her work on the farm, and family life, Kari enjoys horseback riding, gardening, and reading non-fiction.

Sarah

Sarah

Kennel Technician

When she lost her beloved cat, Simba, Sarah made a choice—she wanted to become a person who could make a difference in the lives of others’ pets. Sarah decided to switch careers and follow her passion by pursuing a career in veterinary medicine!

Sarah is a native of upstate South Carolina. She attended Greenville Technical College’s Small Animal Care and Veterinary Assistant program, graduating with honors in May of 2007, and began her career here at Paw Prints Animal Hospital in the fall of that year. As a Kennel Technician, Sarah particularly enjoys the challenge of socializing timid newcomers; she strives to do everything in her power to make sure that every pet who visits the clinic has a pleasant experience.

In her spare time, Sarah enjoys staying active with her church, writing (she’s even had two poems published in poetry books!), and spending time with her own pets at home. She lives with four cats—Sister, Pumpkin, Rusty, and Salem—as well as a black Lab named Shiloh and two German shepherds named Alex and Anneliese.

Savannah

Savannah

Veterinary Technician, Receptionist

Savannah wasn’t always aware that she wanted to work with animals, but that changed when she volunteered with the local Humane Society during high school. Before long, Savannah knew in her heart that the field of veterinary medicine was her true calling!

A South Carolina native, Savannah attended Tri-County Technical College in Pendleton, where she earned her Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology. She graduated in May of 2015 and joined the Paw Prints Animal Hospital family shortly afterward as a Licensed Veterinary Technician and receptionist.

Outside of her interests in the veterinary world, Savannah enjoys reading, playing the cello, hiking in the great outdoors, and spending time with her extended family’s many pets.
